2026 Range Rover Sport Performance & Technology Guide
No matter how particular your tastes, the versatile Range Rover Sport is easy to appreciate. The interior is comfortable, and the range of customization options is unbeatable, but it is the areas of performance and technology where the Range Rover Sport really excels. And since this includes such an extensive list of features, we figured it was easiest to put together this guide.
Range Rover Sport Drivetrain Options
|
Drivetrain |
Horsepower |
0-60 Time |
| 3.0-liter I6 | 395 | 5.2 seconds |
| 3.0-liter I6 PHEV | 454 | 5.3 seconds |
| 3.0-liter I6 PHEV (Battersea Edition) | 543 | 4.7 seconds |
| 4.4-liter V8 | 523 | 4.3 seconds |
| 4.4-liter V8 SV | 626 | 3.7 seconds |
There are essentially just two engines for the Range Rover Sport, each with two different levels of tune, and two that are mated to plug-in hybrid drivetrains. Trim level has a lot to do with drivetrain availability, so this is important to note. The base I6 is only available in the SE, and the SE is only available with the base I6. It’s a similar story with the SV and its SV-specific V8 and the PHEV Battersea Edition. The Sport Dynamic SE is the only trim available with your choice of any of the remaining options. The Autobiography and Twenty Edition are only available with the 523-horsepower V8. If you’re wondering why the 454-horsepower PHEV drivetrain has a higher power output than the 395-horsepower I6, but is slightly slower to 60 MPH, the answer is weight. The battery used for the PHEV drivetrain is big, bigger than most plug-in hybrid batteries, and therefore heavy. But there is an upside to this, as it means the PHEV drivetrain also gives you more all-electric driving range than is typical in plug-in hybrid vehicles, a total of 51 miles. And that range also applies to the more powerful Battersea Edition drivetrain.
Range Rover Sport Technology Features
The Range Rover Sport comes with an extensive selection of advanced technologies to help with both on-road and off-road conditions. So, while things like adaptive cruise control are commonly found in competing vehicles, the Range Rover Sport sets itself apart by also offering adaptive off-road cruise control. Similarly, cameras that give you a 360-degree view of your surroundings are common, but the Ground View available for the Range Rover Sport gives you a much more complete picture by also showing what’s under the vehicle. Standard dynamic air suspension with Terrain Response intelligently adapts ride height, damping, and traction control to road and trail conditions, so that the Range Rover Sport can give you a composed highway ride and then immediately and confidently tackle rough surfaces with electronic precision. Safety and convenience technologies are delivered with a matching premium polish. Sophisticated driver-assistance systems, an available high-definition digital head-up display, and a cutting-edge telematics suite ensure that every occupant remains connected and well-informed. These integrated features further simplify routine requirements, from precise parking and intelligent route planning to seamless remote vehicle management.
