About the Defender 130

Regardless of which model you select, every Defender 130 is engineered to excel both on and off the road. One standout advantage that the Defender 130 offers over its smaller siblings is an additional 13.4 inches of length (compared to the Defender 110). In addition to smoother on-road manners, the expanded dimensions result in greater interior space for both your cargo and your passengers. Boasting the most spacious third row of any vehicle in the model range, the Defender 130 boasts an outstanding 89 cubic feet of maximum cargo space with the second and third rows of seating folded flat. By selecting one of several individually configured accessory packs, you’ll be able to add a personal touch to your vehicle while also boosting its versatility. Immersive technology features including lifesaving driver-assistance systems provide an extra layer of confidence behind the wheel of the Defender 130.

What the Critics Say

One of the Land Rover Defender 130 X’s biggest pluses is its third-row setup. Not only is it easy to hop back there even for out of shape middle-aged dudes like your humble author, when you get back there, it’s plenty comfortable, with more than a bit of room for kids of all ages. There are cupholders and power ports at each end, a sunroof above, the seats are heated, and there are air vents. Quality stuff.” – MotorTrend

Despite its mass, the 130 is supremely easy to live with. The eight-speed automatic shifts almost imperceptibly, and the engine auto stop-start function works without being intrusive. This three-row SUV even handles quite well. It’s a smooth operator in almost every situation, and we didn’t expect that from something this large.” – Edmunds

What’s New for 2026

For 2026, the three-row Defender 130 receives a variety of small updates and revisions that are worth mentioning. Starting with the interior, buyers can now enjoy new features like an updated center console design, a new gear shift lever, an upgraded 13.1-inch touchscreen display, and standard Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control. There’s also an optional onboard air compressor option that joins the option list for 2026. Turning our attention to the exterior, there are a variety of changes to note. While subtle, you’ll notice updated headlight surrounds along with redesigned bumpers for the front and rear of the vehicle. Last but not least, the 2026 Defender 130 is offered with fresh 22-inch alloy wheel designs in addition to new Borasco Silver and Woolstone Green exterior paint colors.
